Can a buddhist be pantheist?

edited November 2011 in Faith & Religion
i thought i was atheist, but i realized that, though i believe in no personal god or creator, i believe everytting has a divine nature to it. is it ok for a buddhist to think this?

We're having a similar discussion under my "Higher Power" thread: http://newbuddhist.com/discussion/12903/higher-power-in-buddhism

My answer would be that pantheism fits very well with Buddhism. Tantra in particular explicitly teaches about the divine nature of everything and everyone.

Yep. I like Pantheism. I'm an Atheist, but I kind of mildly think of myself as a Pantheist as well.

Pantheism, to me, goes with the idea of interconnectedness.
