    done.....
  • For starters I am not familiar with the context of teachings these are from. Or if these translations are accurate from my traditions perspective.

nikkamatha be prana? The breath of life?
  • thanks fedrica

these three words came to me during the meditation few months ago

at first i took 'nikkamatha' as 'let go', 'going forth from household life'

today morning during the meditation it struck the mind 'nikkamatha' as 'go beyond world'

world here means the world of 'all' namely, six sense bases, six types of contacts, six types of perception and feelings, taking everything as 'me and mine'

i would like to know if someone (who is well read of suttas) have come across the above terms and read those suttas if any

    thanks

  • Maybe you are sensing a possibility? Not sure what *of*?

what do you mean by 'a possibility'?

  • Well if there is the possibility to go beyond consciousness you have. Do you sense a feeling or longing?
  • not a feeling, not a longing, but 100 percent sure of the situation
  • Oh yeah. So do you know what to do or where to go? Does it feel like a calming down? I'm curious I haven't experienced this so I am trying to relate.. Or do you feel determined?

there is nothing to do except be mindful and nowhere to go

Does it feel like a calming down?

    yes, perfectly calm
    do you feel determined?
Oh yes, to be mindful of all the time of 'vinnatha, sunnatha, nikkamatha' but still i fail sometimes

  • :) happy to hear that
  • i would like to share the following with you which comes to me during the meditation

vinnatha (samudahaya), sunnatha (asthangamaya), nikkamatha (anitta, dukka, anatta)

    any comments?
  • They are Buddhist sounding words, but do they actually mean anything? If you're wondering if you've had some insight into some secret knowledge then I would think that it would be important to have some insight into the significance of the words as well.

if you've had some insight into some secret knowledge

i do not see any secret there

anything or everything comes into mind through six sense bases can be put into 'vinnatha' (samudhaya) (arising)

anything or everything comes into mind through six sense bases disappear as soon as they arise (passing away) 'sunnatha'

seeing it through the mind is nikkamatha (anatta) or there is nothing to hold onto

    comments please

  • I've never heard of these words and I even googled them to find out more but nothing comes up so I figured they were something unique that came up in your meditation.
