When my first child was en route and I was a bit anxious about the future, my younger sister, who had two kids, confided, "Adam, you can either read every book that was ever written about child-rearing or you can read none at all. Either way, you won't know shit."

Our species has succeeded through this impulse to breed.
Socially glorifying its rewards is just part of this success plan.
It's too bad that our species eventual failure is just as likely
to be chalked up to our inability to slow this impulse.

^^^ I'm going to need the decoder ring for that...

So the first 2 lines....humans have not died out and gone extinct
because of our impulses....of course the rewards need to look grand and
fabulous...or else it would defeat the purpose.

The last 2 lines...I'm a little unsure of....
When we eventually do go extinct...it will be because the rewards
.... ??? Or we slowed down too much??

I know why I 'wanted' them. I know why and how it's
    a pain in the neck.....
It just releases the stress and tension
    to laugh about it...
Next trip we take to the comedy club...you stay home., lolololololol

    EDIT: Great...now that Jay laughed...it must be a joke I didn't get...
    hahaha
  • I remember how annoying I was as a kid, so I think I can understand somewhat. :D

@Sabre -- With respect, I think human beings are hard-wired to overlook the full extent of their capacities to irritate. Not you, of course, or me, but all those other people. :)

    @Vastmind
    Sorry for being vague.
It's like talking to someone who has recently given birth and says"never again", but a few months down the road some naturally evolving brain drug has them all ready to have more. Hence a burgeoning human population.

    The second two lines were...
I tend to think that outside of our innate adversarial tendencies, a population growing beyond the available resources needed to support them have resulted in most of our world problems and will be the most probably cause for our extinction.

Not unlike a few of my past relationships where the very thing that I originally found the most attractive in it eventually becomes the flip side reason of why it failed or I bailed.
    ...sigh!

the world...hahaha. When the brain is in love, your throwin'
cookie upside the walls.......then later your ready to throw your
    head upside the walls...lololol

I get ya...I was just teasing you for getting all serious.....:) :)

lol it was not a joke, I was completely agreeing with @how in his statement, that is all.

being the father figure to a nephew, and comic videos like this, are very good birth control to me :). Well also being that my job is foster/adoptive home recruiting, I could never see myself bringing another mouth into this overpopulated world when so many children need adopting.
