Guys I think your posts are great and I am almost embarrassed at posting something as trivial as a Ted Talk by magician David Blane

    . . . almost . . .

Well, that's 18 mins I'll never get back. :grumble:

He's trying to prove something to someone.....I hope he
    figures it out soon.

I notice he didn't mention the divers that have died doing that
freediving. I guess bec their story wasn't on Oprah or network TV,
and they didn't get a nice paycheck in return. Oh, I'm sorry...am I
    supposed to believe he's helping science.? . . . I call bullshit.

  • @Vastmind, sorry to waste your precious time.

I got a great deal from it.

Firstly I was impressed by David Blane's feats, which display the fanatical commitment to do the impossible. The sort of thing the Buddha attempted. For example the Buddha attempted to hold his breath in one of the sutras to control the body, when he was training his body/mind. He got a splitting headache. Ah well . . .

Then it reminded me of my own tightness, which involved being too tense to breath properly, leading to health problems. Again and again I was reminded of what is considered crazy, being still to reduce stress for example. Lowering ones resting heart beat, something that I also had very high for a long time.

Some of us do not have it hard in terms of life karma. So we induce stress, put ourselves into stress. From that we learn its futility, not because someone told us but because we experience.

    . . . another wasted minute . . . oops

lolololol...I can appreciate a good snark. Takes one to know one. ;)

    I knew the attempted connection. I just don't think it's a
good one. That's all. And was that his connection...or yours?

If you got a lot from it, by all means...
    don't listen to me.
Just don't go do anything stupid because you were
impressed. I would miss the hell out of you. :)
