some of my art

When I can't meditate it out....I work it out with art.
I like to mix, or collide worlds in my art. :)

    Very beautiful, @bravehawk.
Me, I love to design and paint mandalas.

That's interesting. Could you say a bit more?

Well, as a purely therapeutic hobby -no artistic intention behind it- I like to draw and paint mandalas.
Sometimes I paint mandalas on books, but I prefer to design my own with commercial stencils. I use just pencils.
The style is obviously very naif, the thematic repetitive but the pleasure is in the activity itself.

Sorry, they're lying on the side and one is repeated. I'm clumsy with technology!

Wow! Good idea to use coloured pencils. Are the stencils very large?

The stencils are about 20cm per 20cm.
They were included in a book in German called "Kraft durch Kreativmandalas," by Norbert Pautner.
The stencils are just the geometric designs (circles, squares, also some Tibetan flourishings and the typical Mandala border)
I like to dab with Feng shui and Asian symbols.
And flowers and lots of pink, and girly things... pretty kitsch, I know!
@bravehawk must put in a lot more time on his masks.

If you click on the pictures they go the right way up...the software here has changed the orientation to make them fit the page size or some such technical gobblydegook. :D .

  • Very pretty! Reminds me of one of my fancier childhood toys - a spirograph.

  • BuddhadragonBuddhadragon Ehipassiko & Carpe Diem Samsara Veteran

Yes, but spirograph's creativity scope is rather limited.
With these stencils, you can introduce your own material.

  • Right I do put time into but not as much as my future pieces will be since I'm not longer using a pre-bought mask and actually making that part myself.

@bravehawk: is there any particular reason why you choose to work on masks?

  • I draw on a lot of objects. I've kinda took on the thought patterns of jean mitchell Basquit where I just paint on anything. Masks are just easily accessible at the moment. It all started with skulls a friend sent me to do for her, and it went downhill from there.

  • Wonderful. I have a couple of skulls on my shrine at the moment.

Inspiring, disturbing and for sale? Not for me you understand, I have enough empty skulls and masks to deal with including my own . . .

Maybe someone will commission you to paint a Buddha? Perhaps you can sell your neo-Tantra online?

Here is an app maker I have just started using. It is of course selling my line of Tardis hardware and ozmonaut art franchise . . .

My son would sooo love your skulls.
Skulls are all the rage among kids these days.

Dr Who is a fictional character, I on the other hand am an ozmonaut (and Buddhist on occasion).

Of course these are all just masks . . .

Maybe the best time to wear a mask is during meditation even though this might be considered a dharma affectation . . .
