Oliver Sacks' essay about terminal cancer and living life now

I found this a lovely piece to share. He had cancer 10 years ago but is among a rare population who have the tumor spread and now he is terminal. He is a wonderful writer.

Having had a couple of cancer scares recently (which turned out to not be cancer) there were 3 things that occurred to me:

    1. You may go through a lot of suffering during the treatment.
    2. You may survive, but there's a pretty good chance your life will never be the same again.
    3. You may die soon.

It's a lot to swallow in a fairly short time.
