Jo Cox - RIP

One of our MP's was shot, stabbed and killed today, probably by someone with mental health issues.

So much pain in the world, expressed in such terrifying ways. RIP, Jo Cox. Wishing her many blessings on her journey.

The gun, by the way - was home-made, not purchased (in case anyone was wondering how on earth this man might have laid his hands on one).
In a way, that makes the incident even more sinister....

A talking point for the US gun lobby

Not really. Most avid gun enthusiasts in the USA who own guns because they like them, are also more than capable of creating, and adapting their own weapons. It's a 'thing' with them.

I remember participating in a thread regarding a previous 'mass shooting' incident' the thread ran to over 600 pages, and was scattered with enthusiastic gun owners' posts exchanging technical details and useful tips or suggestions on how to 'make/modify your own gun'...
Some of these people had collections of weapons numbering into the hundreds. Why? Just because....

What I mean to say is that the ARA will say that criminals and terrorists will can get their hands on guns no matter how tight the regulations become.

Oh, they say that already. Don't worry. They frequently use every excuse in the book and then some.

In any case, this happened on British soil to a British Politician, in her home town, and the entire community is shocked, stunned and appalled. The man who killed her is also local, and in his mid to late 50's.
There is talk of this being a political motive, there is talk of his being mentally ill.
Either way, the BBC rolled out the fatuous point that "A British MP has not been killed on British soil for 26 years". What the hell that actually has to do with anything, I'm still unsure....

Jo, we pledge to honour your beautiful life of service to humanity, by picking up the banner of love, and carrying it to our homes, our communities, our countries and our world. Your children will not grow up to know a darker world. The hate that took your life will not triumph. We will fight, with love, and for love, for the world we all want.

Parliament is being recalled on Monday to pay tribute to her.

  • Such a terrible loss.

A candle has been put out - many more shall come in her stead.

Peace to Jo, to her family, to England.

Yes, the perpetrator was suffering from a mental illness. It is called extremism and hatred.

We do need more people like her, in the USA as well.
Truth is, they are all around us. We just need to look. (and act)

    Peace to all
