Ajahn Brahm is great, another English gentleman of course.
Ajahn Brahm tells a story about how Vi Passana and Sam Atha take their dog Metta for a walk in the hills of insight.
It's a bit corny, but it is by far the best description of Buddhist meditation I can remember hearing.
Ajahn Brahm once described himself as a bliss ninny. Straightforward without pretension.
