Dates: 2011 July 29 - August 5 (Friday to Friday)

Retreats are time to concentrate on your practice, meet other members of different sanghas and learn more about practice in the Nichiren tradition. They are times to develop friendship and ties. A week without worries from the outside world. Just you and your practice in a comfortable, peaceful setting. Retreats are a week long, Friday to Friday. Activities include Suigyo (water purification), daily services, chanting practice, special services, Shakyo (sutra copying) and Shabutsu (Buddha image copying) practice, vegetarian food, Shodaigyo meditation and time to reflect, stretch and enjoy the company of sangha members. We will have classes for both beginners and advanced students.

This retreat is open to anyone who would like to participate and is willing to participate in Nichiren Shu style services and practice.

The 2011 retreat is set for July 29 to August 5 at the Margaret Austin Center located just outside Houston Texas. This is the same location we used in 2008.
