This is crazy, the article itself is interesting but the video is quite shocking when you think about it.

  • I think it's a pity that this information can be labelled as classified. As a nuclear country, the people are running risks, and they need this information to decide if they feel that the risk is acceptable.
  • what is government transparency?
  • I want to know if a bomb that he explained can even exist, a bomb more powerful than EVERY bomb dropped in WWII including to the 2 nukes, that is quite a claim.

Not really. It's just the idea of overkill taken to pathological extremes and then technologically executed. What we have here is guided missiles and misguided men. Eric Schlosser is referring to a 1980 accident in Damascus, Arkansas:

The world was a saner place back in 1961... People simply practiced more restraint. Nowadays even people in positions of public trust carry on like schoolboys fighting on the tarmac. Just look at Republican members of the US Congress and their 42 headstrong, time-consuming forays against Obamacare. They, too, would love to have bigger guns, I'm sure.

This 'clean' two stage fusion weapon was detonated by the soviet union. Largest nuclear explosion on planet earth. The picture shows the cloud, which is 35 miles (56km)high.
