ON MEDITATION

The nature of meditation:

5pm meditation - wonderfully calm, deeply peaceful, clearly comprehending mind states, seeing deeply, insightful.

Half hour break

6:30 pm meditation - obsess on daily chores, food, video games, sex, no concentration, mind fighting you to to quit, only thing you can do is laugh.. Still insightful.

To use a quote from vice-abbot Bhante Seelananda - “ah, see, such is the nature”
And Bhante G “ evvvvvvvverything Is impermanent” , even meditation

    Happy New Year @Jayantha <3

Tee Hee. Do you think that half hour break allowed the monkey mind to regroup?

My meditation at the moment is mostly like your 6.30pm effort. Just as the mind begins to settle I finish, hopefully into mindfulness.

Who said, 'our greatest practice is off the cushion'?

    Indeed. <3
We all share of course but the Sangha and their efforts offer especial potential.
After all three jewels and we have the beginning thread of a necklace ... so to speak ... knots and jewels ... B)

Ha! I wouldn't even bother meditating at 6.30pm. I'd either fall asleep or follow a similar pattern to the OP.

    Hope you're well @Jayantha!
