How long have you tacitly supported terrorism? Hypocrite?

Some are quick to bring flowers for the victims of terrorism. Bravo.

Do we ignore the poor individuals who lost lives in Grenfell Towers, many of who are [insert label]?

Our oil fueled Western hypocrisy has advocated state sponsored wars. Where is the ahimsa in that?

Is J.K. Rowling naming and shaming the death eaters?

We're all hypocrites. Its very easy to post memes and rants and pontificate online. Action IRL and with no keyboard in sight - THAT takes guts

I think we average citizens have little awareness of the power games that take place behind higher echelons' closed doors.
And less and less power of decision over our government's choices.

    Exactly so. <3
As a ranting pontificate and a lapsed Muslim of the Extremist sufi persuasion, I am more than happy to declare a Jihadi-Ahimsa love war. What does that involve? Well my suggestion that the Dalai Lama instigate and fund a Lama Parachute regiment to enter areas of extreme wrath with prayers and Bodhisattva Mantras at the ready, has fallen on deaf ears. Maybe one email was not enough ... So much more fun to promote the kalachakra ... Pah! :p

I of course will be hiding behind the sofa, hiding from Trump, the daleks and the Internet ... :3

As usual I will be focusing on:

    • Smiling at everyone, whether they like it or not. Yep hardcore. o:)
    • Generating a Buddha field. The Buddhas was allegedly a mile out, mine is about six foot, on a good day ... :3
    • Being kind to my toaster even when it is tardy

It might not be much but we all start from where we are .... B)

I kind of like the quote from the movie, "Fury" [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fury_(2014_film)] that goes, "Ideals are peaceful. History is violent." A living koan: What will a (wo)man do when violence is not enough and what is called peace is not enough?

We are all complicit in terrorism, intentionally or not. I always thought it would be interesting to see how citizens would break up the national budget if they got a say where their taxes go (considering a significant % here in the US goes to the Dept of Defense for buying war machines under contracts that make our politicians rich...). If you pay taxes, you support war, no way around it. No way to avoid it. At least not legally. War crimes get the other cheek but if you don't pay taxes you go to jail (or they levy your bank accounts, pay checks etc).

Also, most of us contribute to violence with our words and if not that, our thoughts (which influence our actions and words). We might not be on the street yelling racial epithets, but we are harsh with our kids, gossipy about our neighbors, even talk behind our friends' backs. We probably talk bad about ourselves more than anything. It all contributes to a level of violence in our world. And perhaps it is more insidious than fundamental terrorism.

Someone used my ebay account to buy a $525 gold coin today. I got the alert and immediately canceled the transaction. Took all the necessary steps. Took a couple hours. Called the police in the city my item was to ship to and their answer was "we don't do anything about those things." Failures all over and a few bad guys involved to steal my information and account. In the end, worked out fine, it was refunded before the order was even processed. But I still found myself beating myself up over stupidity, even though I really did everything right in having secure passwords. Violence in words to ourselves absolutely impacts us. As I dealt with it, I was snippy and rude to my kids who were needing breakfast and rides to classes and so on. Thankfully, I apologized and explained to them what was going on and it was ok. On the plus side, my version of getting upset now mostly meant I was short with them and snapped that they'd have to wait for breakfast because I was on the phone dealing with crap. But I didn't want that to be how they started that day, and to send kids out into the world who were feeling bad. It just ripples through them into fights with their friends, rudeness to a teacher, etc. Friend goes home and cries and gets in trouble with alcoholic father who thinks boys shouldn't cry. All those little moments add up. And they matter. At least I think they do.

It seems cliched, but truly the end to violence starts with the end to violence within ourselves and towards ourselves.

    Tee hee.
As someone who experiences Peace as a form of self-violence (not my 'natural' inclination) and transcendence as a form of incompleteness, I am happy to be a dead koan.

However ... we have every right not to be molested, abused or terrorised by others or in many cases ourselves and our views. In other words make friends with your impediments or send them emails

    Dear Dalai,

Do you have any spare monks or lamas to send to hell realms, to save the terrorised, or are they all busy?

    Yours sincerely,
    C. S. Lobster (hell dweller)
