Lightbulb List of jobs I would never do.

Hi all.

My list of "jobs" I wouldn't do..

Job, Reason
Ambulance Driver , Nasty stuff-busted bodies
Police officer , Low pay
Nurse, Low pay
Doctor @ Palliative care facility, Too sad-I'm sorry, I just couldn't do it.
Air Traffic Controller , Got to be Arrogant (I work with them-I know)
Scientist in the Hot Zone, possible Infection with heamoraggic fever

Now I know that some of you do this sort of work listed above well all I can say is I WORSHIP YOU ALL.

Wouldn't do again?

Fish canning factory worker ( - the smell darling, the smell)

Gut sausage (andouille) factory worker (don't even ask!)

Teaching in a French state school (nerves won't stand it)

Housewife (bored out of my tiny brain)

Wouldn't consider if offered?

Terrorist (too mouthy - stand out like a sore thumb in a crowd, not the ideal for a suicide bomber)

Drug dealer (no that really is a moral decision)

Fashion model (I hate being the Before picture in the Before and After articles)

What I wouldn't do now is very different from what I wouldn't do when I was out of money, abroad and very, very hungry.

I hope you mean this literally, ZM.

For some reason, I'm thinking it's "code" for actually doing something else...

You know, my mind is just a mess, so don't ask me for clarification.

As for Simon, I'm glad to "know" someone that has had those sort of experiences - but I don't know if I could have done that. I'm sure he has some great stories though.

My life is just tooooooo boring.

Actually,

I was making a comment earlier in this thread about a job that ZM had once - a cucumber polisher.

Now, if that ain't full of double entendre, I don't know what is!

Why would one need to really polish a cucumber (literally...don't be getting any ideas, bf)? I wish ZM was here to explain that a little further for us!

I know... it sounds very... erotic...

Actually, I think he said it had something to do with when he was living in Greece or something.

"Erotic" wasn't really the word I would have used. Something more like "weird", "strange", or "a big fat waste of time and energy" are more like it.

Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.

Never do again:
Military - maintaining automaton status was draining
Police Officer - negative, confrontational, unhappy work.

Never do in the first place:
Sales - soulless
Butcher - eww
Nascar driver - mindless consumption

I've met a few cops here in Porterville. They seem like the most immoral types I've ever met. Did you work with a lot of types like that?

Yes. You spend your work life being lied to and despised by most of the people you come into contact with, it tends to alter you at a very basic level. I was (and am again) a very happy person with a friendly demeanor and a helpful attitude, after two years on the job I hated everyone EXCEPT my fellow officers and my family. It's very much "us vs. them"...and yuo are "them".

Then there are the weak and incompetent people who's desire for authority draw them to the job, they begin as morally bankrupt individuals and evolve into the the kind of degenerates you see profiled on the news.
