Setting cookies across subdomains

edited October 2009 in NewBuddhist.com
This is a setting that most likely no one will care about... But I noticed that http://newbuddhist.com and www.newbuddhist.com have different cookies. That is, that if I go to http://newbuddhist.com and log in, and I will not be logged in on www.newbuddhist.com. This can cause issues when someone is logged into the www subdomain and follow a link to newbuddhist.com...

I believe to switch this you have to set the cookie domain to .newbuddhist.com in the vBulletin admin CP? It is detailed here: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/vboptions_group_http

If you have your reasons against switching, I will gladly respect them. I just usually login under http://newbuddhist.com for aesthetic purposes (www is redundant).

I do know how to set cookies across subdomains, but the real issue here is that the server should force either www or no www, not let you choose :) I'll ask Brian which he prefers and fix it. (probably no www)
