Last Saturday, July 28th, was my 14th anniversary as a monk. So if you don't believe in miracles, that should change your mind, that anyone like me could hold their ordination vows that long! Only through the kindness of my teachers...

    Congrats, Pally.

And your dad said you'd never be able to hold down a job :)

Seriously though... good job. You'll make a good Buddha some day.

He already is. The fact that he doesn't realise it means he has another 14 years to go....

Deep Ghasso and blessings upon you, Our Resident Monk.

Congratulations, and keep up the good work.

    And the knickers.

Congratulations, Palzang! What a wonderful achievement and I'm so grateful you are part of this sangha. Maybe one day you'll know how much you've taught me.

(Celebrating by buying underwear is the most adorable thing I've ever heard.)

Yuh.... It's throwing the old lot away that is cause for concern...

Most teenagers I know have underwear that probably contravenes all Health and Safety Regulations and the 'Toxic or Dangerous Substances & Materials Act'.....

Congrats, Palzang Pal. I'm not aware of the thignificance of the fourteen thingy, but we all have our little private joys.

Ya Know, you give monks a good name.

    Many, many more!

Nothing particularly significant about 14 years. It's just a long time in these so-called modern times, especially when you consider we don't live in a monastery but out in the world, constantly subjected to temptation piled on temptation.
