Yes, I think so - very scruffy looking in molt, and possibly a little tamer than I'm used to seeing - hope he doesn't get into trouble because of it.

Nice one @federica , I'm sure they will appreciate the gesture...I won't see her again as she's leaving tomorrow, but I'll mention it to her Kiwi friend if he comes to the Dharma talk next month :)

In keeping with the tumultuous celebrations customarily taking place on St Patrick's day, today is St. George's day, and the country is going wild with excitement.
Oh, BtW, as a double-whammy, it's also Shakespeare's Birthday! People are going crazy, and everyone's ecstatic!

Here is a typical picture of today's English mad moments of wild feasting and making merry....As you can see, the guys can barely contain themselves, as they prepare to buy another round....!! Woo-hoo! Pass the peanuts!!

Ha ha! I assumed you were being sarcastic!

I remember being in a London Pub many years ago and seeing the red and white flags up everywhere. I asked what the occasion was and someone said it was St George's Day.

    No-one seemed to care......

Well it's bloody cold, the temperature has dropped , the forecast was for the temperatures to drop between 5 & 10 degrees ..This morning I when I looked at the temperature gauge it was 15C ( however on my phone which shows Auckland temperature it was only 12C ... bloody cold and it's gonna get colder, with a cool south westerly wind blowing...

And to think that last Tuesday I was swimming and soaking up the vitamin D...I guess that may be my last swim of the season ...mind you, it might well be warmer tomorrow and if so I'll head to the beach...

Oh well at least the sun's out and there's clear blue sky... :)

  • ShoshinShoshin No one in particular Nowhere Special Veteran

Walking back from a friend's place* as the sun was setting...there was a chill in the air 13C .(The photos don't do the experience justice) ...

I was 6 years old when I attended the "Star Wars" premiere back in 1977, @Hozan, and it was love at first sight.

By my calculations, you probably were not even born =)

All my school girlfriends were arguing whether Luke was more handsome than Han Solo...
To me the question was settled: I was smitten with Darth Vader <3

I was born in September of 1977 so too young to see it in 1977 but by 1983 and The Return of The Jedi I had seen all three! I was smitten by Princess Leia ( my first crush !). Love Star Wars to this day!

The point I am making before I get fast cooked ...

... expertise in one area does not make one an expert fighter in all corners of knowledge. I am told 'The Tao of Jeet Kune Do' is worth reading. Only ever dipped into it. ?

If Bruce Lee had continued with his first martial art, Tai Chi, we might have the beginnings of applied insight. ??

    For now lobster cooking 'wisdom':

    • Water and steam create different cooking. Become steamless.
    • Raw ingredients do not cook themselves.
    • Do not stir the fry, they will become fishes.
    • Cook yourself. Become flavour.

    etc etc ❤️

Life would be so much simpler if we were all so simple to figure out, @lobster.
Bruce Lee was a complex character and I guess therein lies the fascination and the legend.

He had a strong, dark personality and grew up among gangs where you had to impose yourself by force if you wanted to survive.
Ip Man, his teacher, taught him to tap into the lighter hues of his soul.
And so he was till the end: a man constantly swerving from one side to the opposite of the spectrum.
    Like we all.
Forever wrestling with our yin and our yang.

Bruce Lee was not a fake.
He did not pretend to be wise and perfect.
He had a deep core of wisdom but did not fear to show his most human side when he felt like it.
