(Paraphrasing) "How come I can't remember my previous incarnation?! I can't remember everything about this life - I can't even remember everything I did last week! Why then, should I remember a past life?!"

I <3 HHDL. His book "Ancient Wisdom For Modern Times" is a staple for me. I can also recommend "The Essential Dalai Lama" and "How To Practise"

    Two things I like best:

One is a story Sharon Salzberg wrote about. The Dalai Lama took a tour of a Catholic monastery, observing how they made cheese and fruitcake to support the monastery. At the end of the tour, he was giving a taste of the cheese. She says that as he told this story, he ended it with "But what I REALLY wanted was a piece of the fruitcake" .. where upon he dissolved into laughter.
(here is someone who can laugh at his desire, without being hooked by it).

The other one has no moral .. it is just a video that amuses me:

    No.
Buddhism has always been the first honest religion.
