What should we ask ...

Lol @ Tricycle... an article to educate buddhists about what questions to ask, that cracks me up.

Surely the question you ask should be your own? If not then it is unlikely you will benefit from the answer.

Two fishermen on a boat out at sea.
Suddenly, one has definitely caught something... He wrestles with the rod and line for an hour, then finally lands... the most beautiful mermaid... voluptuous, young, gorgeous, attractive... so he throws her back into the sea, re-baits the hook, and throws the line.
After a while, his friend nudges him and asks...

    "Why?"

The first shrugs his shoulders, and replies...
    "How?!"

How are we benefitting? Our answers may be questionable?

    Certainly.

There is that, both our questions and our answers may be idiocy. But if you don’t ask the question that’s in your heart you definitely won’t get an answer.

Thus have I heard; the most stupid question is the one you end up NOT asking...

Everyone is a potential teaching of something. I think that meditation is simply a process that potentially sieves out enough of a teacher & student's identity limitations to illuminate what lies beyond such restrictions.
