I have an aversion to the lady in the yellow...well not her, but her expression. Guess I gotta work on that.... Cool site though!
The woman in yellow puts me off too. It's a perfectly fine and interesting article. So why do they feel a need to illustrate it with an irrelevant sexy babe? To me it distracts from the article.
Thich Nhat Hanh (pronounced Tick-Naught-Han) is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk. During the warin Vietnam, he worked tirelessly for reconciliation between North and South Vietnam. His lifelongefforts to generate peace moved Martin Luther King, Jr. to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prizein 1967. He lives in exile in a small community in France where he teaches, writes, gardens, and works to help refugees worldwide. He has conducted many mindfulness retreats in Europeand North America helping veterans, children, environmentalists, psychotherapists, artists and manythousands of individuals seeking peace in their hearts, and in their world.
If meditation was available in capsule form, it would be the biggest selling drug of all time. It has been scientifically proven to deliver highly effective stress relief, boost our immune systems and dramatically slow the ageing process. It has also been shown to make us much happier and more effective thinkers. Given all the physical and psychological benefits, why aren't more of us doing it?
This line always makes me smile: "I am committed to practicing Right Livelihood so that I can help reduce the suffering of living beings on Earth and reverse the process of global warming."
