I read a lot of Deepak Chopra, and some of the Dalai Lamas work, but does anybody know of a good author I can read from? I love spiritual reading, and I have learned a lot. Although I have, I would like some work that is specifically about buddhism.

Don't know if you are interested in anything specific? On a certain topic for example?

I don't read that much, but I know lots of people like Thich Nhat Hahn's books. My favorite book is probably a collection of talks by Ajahn Chah, called "A Still Forest Pool".

Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Chogyam Trungpa's son, writes some very good books as well!

Joko Beck, Brad Warner, Shunryu Suzuki (Zen)

Noah Levine (General Buddhism, although he is definitely influenced by Theravada)

Jon Kabat-Zinn, Jack Kornfield (more for "mindfulness" stuff)

As far as Buddhist related books go, I really like Food For the Heart, The Life of the Buddha, Siddhartha, and anything by Thanissaro Bhikkhu. As for spiritual books in general, I highly recommend The Brothers Karamazov, Sophie's World, God Is a Verb, and any of Plato's dialogues

Also a good suggestion. I'd recommend The Middle Length Discourses of the Buddha, although Access to Insight has a lot of free translations, as well.

Reading Peace is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh is the reason why I'm here refocusing my life on Buddhism and meditation. I just had the book for simple self-help reasons, and it pretty much has changed my life in only 4-6 weeks after reading it. I love Thay.
