Hi Sangha, I am wondering what performances of chants or mantras people find soulful, moving, beautiful, powerful, grounding, etc.? I'm referring specifically to Buddhist or other spiritual chants here.

    I like Dechen Shak-Dagsay's rendering of the "Praise to the 21 Taras."

    I like this chanting of the Heart Sutra in English. It is almost exactly how we do it in our Sangha so it makes me feel at home.

  • This. It's so soothing and still somehow cuts deep to my heart.
    I remember sitting in a bus on dark fullmoon night, I was really afraid of having melanoma (got it checked two years later, it was nothing) and I had flu but I listened to this and somehow it all was kind of okay.

    This is a nice one, Rest in Natural Great Peace, it was a favourite of my Dzogchen teacher Sogyal Rinpoche.
