    Correction: There probably ARE.
But not like any life-form we can imagine....

I am always stunned when people - even people in the scientific community - claim that life can't exist in XYZ place because it doesn't have enough oxygen or water or other elements/compounds that life on Earth needs. Why is it so hard to fathom that there could be other forms of life that exist in other ways?

  • for all we know there could be things living in space just like fish live in the sea.

or what about dimensions beyond the limitations of our own sense gates.
The first dimension I'd suggest a bit more exploring of,
    would be our own hubris.

There are only a certain amount of elements. It is hard to see how many other than carbon or silicon would be able to make the complex molecules like DNA makes proteins. Water is needed for a solvent that is a high boiling point due to hydrogen bonding.

not necessarily robotic beings? life clings to existence.
  • We are not even sure if there can be AI to the point of conscious robotic beings on earth. Who would build the robotic beings? Or can they evolve on their own? Could they have offspring and benefit from natural selection of the fittest robotic beings?

Why look so far for life? There is life in our mouth too, not to mention the stomach and intestine.

There are lives even on our palm. But then, we can only live our own life. I don't know why people bother looking for life elsewhere.

Because mankind always wants to know what it doesn't know. It's not that unlike why Siddhartha began his quest.
