Identity

edited December 2009 in Buddhism Basics
I just realized... I..am not happy with who I was...
I am 'The Found'!!!

"The Found" suits me better, is closer to the core of me...than any random parent given name, and family name...

I am The Found!!

A million times more than I am *****************...or whatever..

being TF ...is really something more.. I can imagine the power of having a Dharma name, like some people.... I wonder what mine would be ,
but I realize that it is a catalyst for change and very powerful at that...

if people knew me as The Found.. ....The Founds eventuality is enlightenment ..he's a Buddha. I'm his living-present-past.

I take some energy from this..

My goal is to be TF, to realize TF.
because sometimes I don't,
you know how internet chat is different than real life...

but also, you know how the Buddha and I talked in terms of the subtle and the gross,

here I must say that I don't desire to become,
it's not about becoming TF., being TF is, and maybe always has been in motion... you can say perhaps that the REAL you..or ME ...is an un-carved block..(ty laotzu) .....a TheFound in waiting....it's what you are once you clear away the bullshit..

I'm having trouble explaining 'I FEAR.'..
but our identities should all meet up eventually,
I hope you can all understand,

    Hi TF,

Do you identify with what is said in the following verse by Huang Po? :):winkc:

    The Real Buddha

People perform a vast number of complex practices hoping to gain spiritual merit
As countless as the grains of sand on the river bed of the Ganges:
But you are essentially already perfect in every way.

Don't try and augment perfection with meaningless practice.
If it's the right occasion to perform them, let practices happen.
When the time has passed, let them stop.

If you are not absolutely sure that mind is the Buddha
And if you are attached to ideas of winning merit from spiritual practices,
Then your thinking is misguided and not in harmony with the Way.

    To practice complex spiritual practices is to progress step by step;
But the eternal Buddha is not a Buddha of progressive stages.
Just awaken to the one mind and there is absolutely nothing to be attained.

    This is the real Buddha.

    With kind regards.

You are not The Found, either.

have you ever read "Found" magazine.
there are lots of found things to think about finding in there.

Nope. But I looked in the "Lost & Found" column of all the local newspapers. Found nothing of relevance..... but plenty of cats and dogs reported either lost or found.

    Fivebells,

Often when I read what you have written, I just have to smile. You are such a person of “few words.”

Recently, a friend read to me something that made me (immediately) think of you.

It seems that Alexander the Great was thinking of conquering the Stoics, and so he sent them a long letter that started off, “If I conquer you, these are (long list) the things that we are going to do."

The Stoics promptly sent back their reply.

    It said:
    “If.”

That was the whole of it. Smile!

    Peace,
    S9

    Kick,

Okay, but who peeled back the veil?

    And:

    Why bother?

All of me wants to know what the fuss was all about. ; ^ )
