Problems with twitching

Ok so lately I've been getting more and more muscle twitches and the like all over my body. Generally on my face and legs. The affected areas so far seem to be the left side of my face right next to the nostril of my nose, my bottom right eyelid, and my bottom lip. My legs twitch mostly on the inner thighs and inner calves. I also get the occasional one on my triceps. Is this an indication of any health problems? or am I just getting too stressed over something?

  • Facial twitches are usually do to exhaustion especially the eyelids. I get muscle twitches myself and have always been told it is either an electrolyte imbalance or an overtired muscle. However it COULD be other medical problems. Perhaps you should check it out but I am more than willing to bet your body is just run down. Good luck and I am sure it's nothing to fret over

Yeah, I haven't been able to get too much sleep lately, not exactly sure why... it's not like I'm busy, and I love sleeping (yay dreams!) so who knows. Maybe I'll take a few advil PM's or something.
  • Yea on those nights I usually take a nice shower to loosen my muscles, take a Tylenol or Advil PM and read until I feel drowsy. Try to keep your thoughts light and notice your breathing. Hope you sleep well!!

Hehe, well thank you for the concern, I'll just pop on a boring documentary about nature or something after showering, pop some PM pills, down a glass of warm milk, and see what happens. Who knows I might sleep solid for two days straight :D

If this does not fix it though, idk what will.
  • Acme Anvil?

If you can find and buy me one I'll put a little plaque on it dedicating it to you and put it in my room. ;)
  • Haha I will get on that ASAP :D
  • Fatigue, sometimes added to stimulants (caffeine, nicotine, etc) can cause that. Several good hard nights' sleep will probably make a difference. Also, eating well can help. If it continues for more than a few days, I'd suggest seeing your doctor though. There are pathologies that can cause it, and some of them aren't to be trifled with.

Read the thread, Leon, plenty of good hints in it.

Ok well I got a really good nights sleep (10 PM until 8 AM, ha) and so far, I feel fine. I'm guessing I was just tired and stressed out, but since I cannot afford to go to a hospital unless it is an emergency I thought I'd ask around first. Thank you all for your help, I genuinely do appreciate it.
  • I used to get facial twitches whenever it was exam week when I was in nursing school. It took me a week or so of less stressed living before they completely resolved. It takes the body a while to recover, so give yourself some time.
