Yeah I rarely watch TV or movies. Honestly the only thing I'll watch is the occasional anime. Can't seem to give it up. My main form of entertainment is bike riding or reading though, along with music during each of these activities.
  • I like amine to. LOVE fooly cooly ^_^ yea I used to be big into music but I have given that up to. I need to get into shape and get a bike
Oh the woe of having no job (kidding) ... Kind of

Haha, FLCL was great, one of my faves. I generally stick to romances and the like though, and I'm comfortable enough with myself to not be ashamed in admitting it. And when I meant bike riding I meant my motorbike, haha. I do have a really nice Schwinn though that I ride occasionally.
  • Haha nice, my aunts got a nice Harley waiting for me when I get my bike liscense. My old schwinn was stolen a while back. And don't be ashamed ^_^ well I know you are not but you know what I mean :) ... I also like princess mononoke and the like.

TV shows what people like to watch.
Not entirely true, it's not that simple. TV /doesn't/ show a lot of things people like to watch, because it's too expensive to produce good shows. If a greater variety of types of programming were shown, people would watch it. Programming now is so limited, that there's not much choice. Not watching at all becomes the choice, or watching public television only. Network TV has lost a lot of viewers I'd guess, judging by opinions shared here, and my own observations.
But the light from the tv often gives me migraines
Do you watch with the lights on in the room, or with the room dark? If the latter, try watching with the lights on. It's supposed to be better for the eyes, and avoids migraines. :)
  • Hey , I usually watch with the lights on but I am VERY prone to migraines :( heh we all got somethin

Ahh a Harley eh? very nice! I got myself a Suzuki GS500F. 500cc sportbike :D

Frequent migraines can be a symptom of thyroid disease. Maybe on the internet you can find a list of thyroid symptoms and see if you have others as well.

My thyroid used to be borderline low but I got it checked recently and it was spot on. The cause could be the slew of medications I take every day hah. But I'm not complaining, life is smilin on me currently :)

Ahhhh nice. Yea she has a sportster that she doesn't use :) I have never been on anything other than a Harley. I will have to find someone near me with a speed bike and go for a ride.

I watch about 3 hours of TV a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.
Survivor, Beast Hunter, and Top Chef are must watch TV for me. I am also into Destination Truth, and any documentary on aliens or cryptos ;) .

There is good stuff on TV sometimes you just have to have passions besides Buddhism to get into it lol.
  • @mrserenity,

Yea there is definitely some good stuff our there. I must confess to be a top chef enthusiast. Anything with cooking really because I love to cook.

The good stuff is just becoming a little too few and far between. I am getting distracted by the junk.
  • I love to cook too. I went to cooking school and wanted to be a chef till I realize they work the hardest job and get paid the lowest wages. But I still love cooking and watching all those good food shows.
  • I went to cooking school to ^_^ I didn't appreciate being cursed at by my instructor though haha
  • Kendoka and chefs have a lot in common. They're both sort of crazy and they yell at each other a lot while they're doing what they do. The head of the SoCal Kendo federation is a chef. So everyone thought that would of been the path I would have taken after doing Kendo and also cooking for so long, but I just didn't want to be getting yelled at all day while making peanuts lol. I do enjoy watching them yell at each other on TV though.
  • Haha yea I am a timid creature. I chose to become a vet tech, at least for now because I love animals. That's a funny coincidence that the head is also a chef.... He's a head chef!!! Lol sorry :)

I love animals too. They like me better than people lol. I have a few pets including a bearded dragon that is fun to take care of because it requires so much knowledge on how to make it thrive in captivity. Makes me feel like I have my own zoo exhibit with a dinosaur in it.

And talking about animals. A new episode of "The Haunted" is on animal planet tonight. Good show about paranormal events that usually has animals in it. I like to watch it every now and then. I have a DVR, so I just record it to my DVR and watch it another time while I eat my food.
  • Hmmmmm I might check that out :) thanks for the heads up.

god, my girlfriend loves reality shows. namely, the jersey shore, kendra, and keeping up with the kardashians. i honestly don't get it. she's very intelligent but my theory is that she gets so burnt out from school that she needs to watch something dumb to help her relax (same reason she likes coloring books, haha). i, on the other hand, am not too smart so i prefer documentaries or food network, anything related to learning is good for me. i don't work my brain muscles nearly enough, hah.
  • I can definitely relate to being burned out and wanting to watch something simple ^_^ my idea of simply though IS the food network because I learn and I understand what they are talking about. The best of both worlds. I like shows about black holes but sometimes my brain yells at me for watching those :/
  • The foodnetwork, the travel channel and national geographic are probably my favorite channels that I can just leave on whenever I am eating and just want some background. They're pretty educational and don't tend to throw around stupid drama that I don't want to hear about. I try not to watch too much news for that fact. Local news doesn't make my day better, it just doesn't tend to comfort me.

yeah, i think that's why i like food network so much as well. HGTV is also pretty good for relaxing. everything on that channel is so positive and productive. plus, i enjoy design.
  • TV is no good. I mean, the Internet has more positive uses, but it's right up there too.
Can't watch tv. I watch hockey at my friend's place and skip commercials.
