I need some advice I'm currently in a bookstore glued to thich nhat hahn - anger. But I'm not sure if this is availale on the kindle. Has anyone had issues with obtaining ebooks from selective authors?

  • I have a nook. You can get pretty much EVERYTHING that's on the shelves on your ebook.
  • I was looking at the kindle over the weekend and it was a little odd that most books I was looking into had to be requested to the publisher and that was not already available. It was then that I thought about the availabilty element.

Actually, I think most of Thich Nhat Hanh's books are on Kindle.

I just checked; it is on kindle.
  • yeah but no Tara Brach, apparently waterstones here in the uk has downloads for all their books...well im curious now. They stocked the Chakra meditation book on the shelf that i spent months looking for.

    thanks for your help.

Hmmm what format are those books? Kindle can read the majority of ebook formats, so you're not limited to Amazon. I've loaded all of the books I downloaded from Buddhanet to my kindle.
  • Is there a multi-format reader?

my girlfriend has a kindle. it's very rare that she cannot find something for it, but it can happen. more and more frequently publishers are putting out ebook versions available on their own websites, so it might be worth it to check the publisher's website specifically. you'd have to check to make sure that the formats were compatible, but the kindle is really quite versatile, imo.

Go get a kindle. It's small and easy. It lacks a backlight, but it's better that way. Try reading a Nook for hours.
  • If you have a smart phone, most of the ebook ecosystems have readers for most smart phones. I would start there. (I have a kindle now, but started reading kindle content on my phone.)
  • Are there any good free ebooks for itouch that I should get?

generally, anything written before 1923 has entered the realm of public domain and is now free. this includes too many classics to count. i'm sure you can find an app that provides these. (i use android, so i can't help.)
