Therion songs are specially interesting. A friend said that the founder of Therion was part of a group called Red Dragon... and after I posted in songs thread, a member mentioned that Therion's lyrics were based on a theory of liberation.
After some research I found the name of the group. It is called Dragon Rouge; it is about magic and not religion or philosophy.
I'm still undecided about this; based on the lyrics the group seems interesting enough to investigate more... but if they are asking for money to be a member, and there's "levels of initiation" and rituals it suspicion about its worth (in a many-lifetimes range) becomes weak.
