Well my intelligence tells me I am living in the world where Gautama Siddharta was enlightened but my quantum weights tell me otherwise. :)

Am I right in remembereing a sutra where the bodhisatvas and gods come to the Buddha with complaints about the world and the Tathagata replies that this world is the one in which he chose to turn the Wheel of Dharma?

Perhaps the use of heavens, hells and the like, are to parallel universes - where in one world people behaved like hungry ghosts, in another graciously godly and in our world, well, so-called human. But damm, it sucks to think so this way because alot of other meanings would be lost.
