The Music Exchange Thread

Howdy again folks! Another dilemma, I love Hip Hop but I'm finding many of my favorite artists -- while generally having decent content -- can be quite violent and aggressive. I'm wondering if anyone here listens to rap and has any suggestions. Or for any other genres, I tend to like music regardless of genre(although have an affection for spoken word). Here's some of my favourite songs at the moment. Maybe we can get a little music corner going

As I say I do like Hip Hop, but alot of my old favourites are pretty violent and aggressive. So something more mature and chilled would be nice if there's any fellow rap fans on here :) (Although I'm not specifically looking for gimmik artists, Ie people who's only talent is exploiting the Buddhist niche)

Yea, I was having problems with Hip-Hop for that reason alone.
I started listening to Reggae and Oldies instead.
  • Which is basically what I've found myself doing. I know quite a few positive British rappers though, so I'm imagining they'll be a few more out there.

    Sure there are.
Underground Hip-Hop but they are still fighting the system.
Immortal Technique, Canibus, Special Ed, Bus Driver, Apathy, Eyedea, Chino Xl, Atmosphere, Sick Since and on and on it goes.
