Jodo Shu and the Nembutsu
I've been surfing the net without any success. I'm trying to find what other benefits reciting "namu amida butsu" has than ensuring your enlightenment in the Pure Land in yournext life. Does it cleanse your bad karma in this life? Are there any cases of people being healed of disease by reciting the nembutsu (in whatever language)?
Thanks for any help given!

In this ebook it lists ten benefits of Reciting the Buddha Name and it is a good read anyway.
I personally have never heard of anyone being cured by reciting the Nembutsu.
Hope this helps,
Jason
