    When I first began visiting Thailand back in the mid-1980s, I wondered why so many Thais were so seemingly happy and good-natured, considering their poverty. Over time I concluded that Buddhism was at least part of the reason.
  • This is an interesting observation, in view of the fact that many non-Buddhists mistakenly believe that Buddhism is a religion of sadness, focussing on suffering.

    People are naturally inspired as they still their clinging, which is a goal of Buddhism.
