You need not bring your dream to a definite conclusion, or make it noble, or happy, or beautiful; all you need is to realise that you are dreaming. Stop imagining, stop believing. See the contradictions, the incongruities, the falsehood and the sorrow of the human state, the need to go beyond. Within the immensity of space floats a tiny atom of consciousness and in it the entire universe is contained.

the monk told another monk that when he found the buddha in his mind to come to him as quick as he can.

one day the monk finally found the buddha in his mind and he yelled I FOUND THE BUDDHA and ran to the head monk.
the head monk immediately slapped the monk in the face BAM. where is the buddha now?

Boom! Enlightenment. The monk realized his true nature. Mind made buddha. Mind made everything.
  • "Once a visitor asked Ajahn Chah if he was an arahant.

He said, I am like a tree in a forest. Birds come to the tree, they sit on its branches and eat its fruits. To the birds, the fruit may be sweet or sour or whatever.

The birds say sweet or they say sour, but from the trees point of view, this is just the chattering of birds."

the spiritual path arises from within, rather than from without

the more these gurus exhort us to that which we have not comprehended, the more they keep us tied, bound & chained to things that are not natural to us

    take care with gurus

give them all up until the only force that impells you is from within

then find the dhamma that can quenches the suffering that impells you; the suffering you have clearly seen & defined

to find the right doctor first requires we see our own illness clearly

    regards
  • this is just the chattering of birds."
    This deserves repeating.

This is what I think he means: Do not worry about attaining enlightment this lifetime. Understand the truth to the full extent. There is so much value in understanding yourself. There is an entire universe all around us waiting to be discovered.
