    I agree. The "waking up" from reality means to come to realization of our attachment. When we are attached and have craving for sensual pleasures, our being will follow the path to rebirth from attachment to those pleasures. Realization is "waking up" from this dream of us as the one who attaches to our being that is bound for rebirth.
