Music and Buddhism?

I'm like, 17 years old, and I'm not very wise or knowledgeable haha. I have a tumblr, and I posted some lyrics from Nicki Minaj, that I guess were mean. And them I posted something about Buddhism, and someone called me out about how its not very Buddhist to do that, because of Right Speech.

And now I am confused. I do not agree with the lyrics, but I like the song...is that not Buddhist?

D: I don't know. I feel really dumb now too. Help?

    listen to what you enjoy. Unfortunately there will always be people who want to turn Buddhism into something like the Christian right.

    As said before, just listen to what you like. I've got a lot of "parental advisory" CD's personally. :crazy: And I sing along with them too :orange:

    There are no such things as Buddhist rules on what we should or shouldn't do or whatever, don't let people make you think otherwise. If you have good intentions, that's what counts.

    Just be you. You are still young.
    We all are.
    Just live and enjoy, but just be mindful and make sure it doesn't hurt anyone.
    You posting lyrics on your blog is not hurting anyone.
    They can skip it and don't have to read.
    My opinion. :)
