    Go to the edit selection within six minutes, delete the text, and write something like "(question deleted)", or "(oops...").

    Or contact a moderator. It may take longer though.

    Yes, the only way to delete on the format that's now in use here is to delete your text and then type in "delete" or "..." or "error". There's no way to delete the window altogether. With the format this site had last year, you could delete the entire window.
