If you like that one... you might like this one:

"A society which defines its component groups buy their weaknesses is going to die."

  • Probably, conservative of self and liberal with all beings. While the joys of all beings is your joys, the suffering of all beings is our suffering and ought to be liberated. All suffering is emptiness and all attainment likewise is emptiness :p

  • As a note on idiot compassion (which really needs its own topic) I have my personal example. I knew a young man who had a combination of bad luck and poor choices. So he ended up homeless and I found out he had been sleeping in my neighborhood in December. Well one of his poor choices was significant enough that I did not feel offering a free couch would do him any good besides perpetuating this cycle, and I had limited means. He was shocked when I offered the choice of a 72 hour hold at a hospital for his suicidal actions of sleeping outside in December or a ride and assistance for a homeless shelter that had semi permanent beds and help with day jobs. He took the shelter and 6 months later admitted that it was much better than couch surfing for his overall good. I woudl probably get a warm fuzzy for 20 minutes by offering the couch which would quickly be resentment as he was refusing to look for work, but the shelter had a fee and he had to hustle every day job to keep that bed.

    Why is anti-abortion wrong?

    ...
Actually, why is family value wrong? stable society are created by family values and respect for eldars and authority.

    ...

Having an anti-abortion view is not wrong in my view. I personally feel abortion is generally undesirable. However, that my personal moral viewpoint. What is wrong would be me trying to FORCE my moral viewpoint on everyone else through politics.

Family values aren't wrong. But, it's assuming that those not like you don't have family values that is wrong. You're Black. There are a number of Americans who believe Blacks (for example) have inappropriate family values. Wrong.

Politics is so divisive, and its done by design. Really you have two branches of the same power structure using wedge issues to give people the illusion of choice. The Republicans have been promising to ban abortion for 30+ years, and they never do. The Democrats have been promising to legalize gay marriage forever, and they never do.What you can count on them for is starting wars, transferring wealth to corporations, and eroding the middle class.

People are just choosing teams. They embrace a political stereotype, and they don't really think for their selves. Its all about blaming someone else for all the problems in the world and never actually looking at yourself. Its pretty pathetic really.

I have a problem with abortion, and I think it can be reduced with better sexual education and more readily available access to birth control. The only problem is the pro-life people are against that too. I only think abortions should be available to women who have a medical condition or are rape victims.
  • To be fair the Republicans can't really ban abortion since the Supreme Court has basically ruled that it is Constitutionally protected.
  • I've changed my mind.

Buddhism is closer to "left wing liberalism" than "right wing conservative" ideals within our human world.
