I DON"T KNOW weather to bring my puppy to the vet

edited July 2011 in General Banter
I was running in my back yard and absolutely HOOFED my poor 6 pound puppy today, she yelped and ran away it was so bad.. damnit. She seems fine now, I kicked her so hard, like 35% as hard as you would kick a football... should I take her to the vet? even though she seems to be fine?

  • Phone the vet and ask for their advice. They might just tell you to keep an eye on your pup for certain symptoms.
  • My brother did this to my dog dixie when she was just a puppy. She was just a few months at the time. He was rushing around in the house walking too fast and dixie ran in front of him and he fell down on her squashing her with his knee.

She yelped/screamed really loud and she ran away dragging her ass all the way to my dads room. She dragged her butt while crying for what seemed like 5 minutes straight And my dad was screaming "What happened to Dixie?!"

She was actually ok, despite it seeming pretty bad. We have tripped on her on several occasions and she was alright. Just take a look at your puppy make sure she is not limping or acting strange. Monitor her behavior, she may be alright.

If the puppy is running around and acting fine, and eating fine, then what else do you expect the vet to check? They don't have a magic wand to wave over the puppy. Critters like that can be amazingly resilient.

But if you have money to spare, you will bet peace of mind I suppose.
