Volunteering Opportunities

I have lots of free time, but nothing to do. I want to volunteer my time. I wish I could wolunteer at a homeless shelter or animal shelter, or something - but I don't think there's any around here (I checked the internet). I can't drive, so I couldn't go far anyways. There doesn't seem to be anything for me to do (again, Google). Suggestions?

I know your not big on religions but they actually do some things that need volunteers. The true religion is kindness anyhow. Actually you'll meet some of the actual bonified Christians who actually believe in kindness and generosity.

I'm guessing your not in a city?

Craigslist.org, then go to the "volunteer" section of your area. Check that every week, you may find something you like. You can also go to the website piratesbay and check out the top 100 Ebooks available for torrent download. I find the ebooks there to teach very useful things. It's a great way to use your free time to educate and improve yourself. Knowledge is power.
  • Might I suggest helping the elderly? The old are so often forgotten in Western society as irrelevant and annoying, but loneliness in old age is dreadful and common. It can take patience to work with the elderly - they move and speak slowly, they can sometimes reminisce a little too much. Then again, what better way to develop your practice?
  • Some elderly are very cool, and have brilliant minds, and are fascinating to talk to. This could be a rewarding option for MG.

Besides, he'll be getting his driver's license in just a few weeks. His horizons will then expand significantly.

In the meantime, if there's a retirement home or a hospital in your town, MG, you can do some volunteer work there. Hospitals usually have a program set up for volunteers.
  • do some hospice work.

this will definitely kick start your practice x 1000!
