Autopiolt

I was meditating not long ago, (yes I have started meditating again believe it or not) and it occured to me after several minutes that our brain at an 'ignorant' or untaimed state is stuck on autopilot in a kind of sense.
You know, it does it's roaming around from here to there, functioning and planning, thinking of the past and future, worrying etc - but I touched upon a sense of stillness where I realized, 'hey wait a sec, there is a switch here that you can turn on or off'.

I do not know if anybody can relate to this, but also I was in the darkness of my room and my thoughts drifted to something external, I then thought of what it would be like to be blind and realized that everything goes on in the old noggin upstairs. I kind of knew this before, but never fully realized it.
It is a bad way to explain in a sense, but you can know that if you drink alcohol you will feel cetain feelings from either reading up on the science or hearing from a friend, but until you drink it, then you realize.
