What do you do for fun?

Especially things that are easy to do while maintaining your center. Things that are easily compatible with path.

  • I read. I'm trying to get into Go, hiking, caving, maybe yoga.
  • I'm an amateur shakuhachi (Japanese flute) player, and I'm considering taking lessons. I record a lot of meditative ambient music which I sell online, though I don't really push the marketing side too much-- I just enjoy creating the stuff. I write haiku (which is actually a very rich and complex form, not the simple 5-7-5 stuff).

I listen (I mean sit and just listen) to a lot of music, though probably more classical, ambient and avant-garde these days, much less rock music than I used to. I read some literature, and quite a bit of poetry. Occasionally some films (usually foreign films, which I find far more interesting, to be honest).

I've done some amateur photography too, but unfortunately I haven't done much with that lately.

I do some weights (just dumbbells). If I lived someplace SAFE, I'd go for walks. I love the outdoors, but where I currently live, I'd rather not take a chance on getting mugged or shot. :(

Most of my days when I'm not working, I'm just occupied with Buddhist study, and drinking tea. LOL
  • -I weight lift /body build. I take it seriously, so it's pretty fun for me to see the results in my physique and my strength.
-I run 5x a week. Either outside or on my gazelle while listening to my mp3 player.
-I practice energy work and Martial arts. Usually on my own now, or sometimes when I get invitations.
-I read *a lot. Probably around 8-10 hours a week at least. Books about psychology, the metaphysical, esoteric knowledge, the paranormal and also graphic novels/manga.
-I attend meetups/workshops about psychology, energy work, martial arts, etc, whenever I can to just learn more in general.
-I watch fun reality TV shows, anime or documentaries.
-I play video games when I have the time. Usually action or fighting games.
-Then finally I like to hang out with friends or family when the opportunity is there.

  • I'm in pharmacy school and I don't have fun. FML.

I found it sadistically funny because of the username. ^
  • I kind of don't have fun, I guess negative things such as drink alcohol, joke with people, play poker-but then I am constantly learning to speak thai which is fun when you get into a conversation with a thai person, graphic design, eat food, photography, expanding my elastic band ball, I like to dream as mine are so vivid and seem to last all night.

I'm kinda boring. My main passion is bonsai. Relaxing. Teaches me to focus. Teaches me patience. Keeps me centered.
  • Photography.
  • Painting, composing music. Not much else. Oh, and posting here!
  • art, sleeping, practice, reading, posting on forums, hanging out with girl friend, working, yoga, going around the state looking for new bars/food restaurants, nature walks, beaches, sitting back with a couple friends having some brews as we watch the baseball game, listening to jazz, walking around the city aimlessly,

eating every single pizza i can get my hands on.
