CUPERTINO, Calif., Oct 05, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.

Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.

His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.

  • Very sad. He'd been fighting cancer for a long time. He did some *amazing* things in his very short life.

    Yea!
    :(
  • Oh no!! Where will all that creative genius and wise stewardship of Apple come from, now? I had no idea he was ailing! :'(

    I'm a PC.
I honestly know nothing about Apple.
  • Apples have always had the most amazing, innovative and efficient designs, they always blow me away. Wasn't it Jobs who also came up with the iPad? He always seemed to be several steps ahead of other computer designers.

Yes, but have you seen the prices?
  • You can buy them 1/3 off if you're a student, faculty, staff, or alumnus of a college, or if you know anyone who is.

But yeah, I guess all that brilliant R & D is figured into the price.

I should point out that Apple actually do not come up with that many new concepts, they are just good at copying other peoples ideas then making pretty products out of them hyping them up and then overpricing them for the people who like the cheap pointless gimmicks and slick looking products.

    Follow my blog on www.ihateapple.com

here is a nice quote from steve jobs

"Picasso had a saying, he said: 'Good artists copy, great artists steal'. We have, you know, always, ah, been shameless about stealing great ideas".

    enough said I believe.

p.s the blog is a joke by the way, but you see my point :p
  • zid, I don't know who they copy from. I've never seen the streamlined computer designs they do, with all the hardware built into the base, or into the back of the screen, in any other manufacturer. Speaking of desktops, here. But I'll check out your blog.

Yes Dakini, as I have said Apple are good at taking other peoples ideas and then making them look and feel nice. But they were not the first to make hardware built into the base or into the back of the screen.

by the way I was joking about it being my blog, however by sheer coincidence it is a real site, tough I have never looked at it.

Okay, this is officially the END of this thread. I will not sit by and let this turn into an Apple vs. PC war (which it now officially has with the above post). This thread is about the death of a man, not about consumer products.
