    I've spent some time in that area, although not at a residential temple. Just touristy stuff. You'll be a bit isolated from medical practitioners that are used to treating westerners. The major city nearby -- Chaing Mai -- is the second largest city in Thailand and quite modern. Chaing Rai is also sort of nearby...not as modern, but reasonable.

    Can't tell you anything about their program.
