me, you, the dirt, space, time, anything, everything, and nothing? what is nirvana or enlightenment? what does it all mean? what is it?

    it is it. meaning is what you want it to mean if you are so inclined but it doesn't make it something other than it.

    "It" is nothing special at all. In fact it's nothing stable or permanent, and bothering with it by wanting or clinging just brings suffering. Getting un-entangled is enlightenment, which is really nothing special either but does have its required conditions.

    As to "why" or the "purpose" of it all... that's the realm of philosophy. No one can say for sure because no one knows. Bothering with why is also a source of suffering. ;)

    Dear C. All you really need to care about is the fact we are all interconnected and thus should be compassionate to all living beings - that is the essence of buddhism. This documentary helped me reach this realisation....(it quite famous and involves the growing realisation of modern science ....)
