My take on defintion and what it meant to me

edited October 2011 in Buddhism Basics
Right or skillful, attachment, suffering, Dukkha, is there any alternative definition, or word, that helped you understand some of the fundamentals?

Comments

  • Yes... Bhante Gunaratana's definitions of a few things helped me out:

    Dukkha as 'general unsatisfactoryness'
    Mindfulness as 'clear comprehension'
    Metta as 'loving friendlyness'
Vipassana as 'concentration with clear comprehension'

Bhante G, imo, really excells at explaining the Dhamma in english... In a way that is very clear to Americans. He has the vocab of a native.
