    cool!
  • Its not easy to give up national identity, how should one even give up a believe in a "self". Well carry a robe does not help by it self. *smile*
  • @Possibilities Indeed! Who knew that bags of earth could make such a difference, even to His Holiness who seemed to consider it a grand gesture as well.

Sometimes dirt is not just dirt, and with something like this it shows once again that anyone and everyone can make a difference in the lives of others if they think on it some. Very inspiring.

  • Yes we can develop even attachments to dirt. *smile*
  • Thank you, Hubris for sharing this...I thought this was a very loving gesture
  • Cool! What a great story. Big, unskillful, un-Buddhist, unrepentant middle finger to the Chinese :)
  • LMAO @Mountains! You're my kind of guy, real, funny, and not without acknowledged flaws.

That middle finger is so timely for me, because I wrote a letter to The Wendy Williams Show (yeah, my judgement in watching that show was totally questionable, rightfully so) for something she said that was offensive.

The website has a section for viewer feedback, however they also ask you to provide a picture. I rather unskillfully and un-Buddhist-like chose a hand with the middle finger (Yay, Google images) up to represent myself, and get my point across that I was not happy with what had been said.

While I did not get a response (yet?) I did get an email telling me I should enter to win a free trip. :eek2:

That's one of the most generous gestures I've ever heard about. And on a grand scale.
Now let's sit back and see what the Chinese have to say.....

Doubtless they'll poop on the parade..... too late! It's done!!

What a sweet and thoughtful thing to do. I wouldn't call it art, though.
