State of Mind

I have recently come to fully understand how our state of mind influences the universe from out perspective. For example, for a few days gone I have been in my house around dusk and there have been kids bouncing a basketball outside for at least 30 minutes. People making loud noises etc, this came to annoy me somewhat. However, today I was in a different mindset completly. The exact same situation took place, but I viewed it differently. These kids were having harmless fun, it is only noise after all, and it is only a problem if you view it as a problem. I guess the same can go for many many things in life...

    @misecmisc1, you don't need to use text-speak here. Please write words in full, as we have many members who do not have English as a first language. There is no lack of space, and we don't charge you for making posts......

    Everything is mind-wrought.
    Perception is often deception.

    @federica: Thanks.

    @ThailandTom: so are you able to do meditation on your breath with the external noise coming and do you not find this external noise disturbing to your meditation now?
  • I don't have a TV or much else to be honest and I find it somewhat refreshing, so I was not in meditation when these noises occurred. I have not meditated in over two weeks now, well sitting meditation that is.
