I'm behind in my learning of Buddhism I know the Noble Eightfold Path, Four Noble Truths, Three Jewels, Five Precepts, Five Aggregates, Three Marks of Existence,...but however since I want to become a monk and join the sangha I feel I have a responsibility to get those lists down so if any of you here could post about Twelve Nirdanas in simple English and in a way that even a child could understand I would really appreciate it. I would also appreciate it if you could help me get whatever lists remain down in my mind..Excellent mnemonic device for us though.

Now what Buddhist book would you suggest for Christmas ?
Currently I'm thinking one of three options namely the Majjhima Nikaya, Samyutta Nikaya, or Digha Nikaya from Amazon since those are available in English.
