lol Facebook Sucks

So, I finally decided to make a Facebook account.

I clicked "add friend" to everyone I knew from school (about 100 people, 70 of which accepted).

WOOPSIE! Apparently I can't do that. Facebook blocked me from sending friend requests and sending messages to people. The hell? That makes no sense. Why can't I do that? Whatever then.

Screw you, Facebook.
Can't wait for that fad to die out and then have everyone migrate to Google + or something.

They block you every once in a while if you send out too many requests. It's just one of those things to keep the spammers in check, I think.
  • Heh, I only have like 70 friends on mine. I am very picky about whom I add though. I think it's pretty fun.
  • Facebook IMO can be useful but also a giant waste of time. So much mindless gossip and pointless things are said there. I have also seen people who get socially shunned on the interet via facebook, that must be a kick in the teeth. It would just add that little bit more of a greyness to their lives when nobody answers their comments or speaks to them. In that case, yes go away facebook and die. But I am sorry to say mindgate, it appears it is not a fad. It will obviously one day die, but it seems to have become a part of peoples lives as much as breathing in some cases. There even reports of people being addicted to facebook to the extent they require outside help.
  • I've heard there's a certain trend away from Facebook. Some people are quitting, due in part to the bombardment of "friend" requests. Too much maintenance. On the other hand, lots of businesses and organizations are joining now--it's become a marketing tool.

I started to set up an account, and even before I activated it, a bunch of strangers sent me "friend" requests. That was too weird, I quit. I don't need to be spending any more time on the internet than I already do, anyway.
  • I myself mainly use it as a tool to keep in touch with people back in the UK and to have images set up in folders to be seen. Also a few of my design projects have come about due to facebook. It is advancing as a high spped rate, today for example I noticed that if somebody makes a comment in a foreign language, there is an instant translate button.

I stoped using it awhile ago. I now use google+ since I can post anything and not have certain people see it, so I can be more myself without family seeing it. Much more private.

If anyone care to add me for emergency and the like. Do at: http://www.facebook.com/leonidbasin :)
  • I use it to keep up with famikly and friends since we are all introverts and therefor don't like to talk on the phone, if I didn't have it I wouldn'thave regular updates on my friend whose 16 yo daughter is slowly dying. Grim but true, she doesn't call us all on each new hospitalization or event.
