In the earlier development of my philosophy, the idea of "The Matrix" was a central theme for me, and it has great value, although I do not typically use the term anymore.
  • Ah I seen the book years back never picked it up. Raised ideas I was wondering.

I seen it at Borders when they were still open, but didn't get a chance to pick it up. I did see a few websites outlining it though.

There's a whole mix of different philosophies in the Matrix; Buddhism and Christian and more; it's a good documentary if you're interested in this sort of thing.
  • I just found a few books at the public library called Matrix and Philosophy: Welcome to the Desert of the Real, and Takinng the red pill: Science, Philosophy, and the religion of the Matrix. Seems like good reads, maybe I will check them out. . .
  • We watched it on my philosophy class and had a days discussion on it. Sadly we didn't watch the whole movie and I can't find it online anywhere. Stupid Netflix.
  • Yes is based from the movie. I might go and pick it up seems intresting. Ive had alot of thoughts about it. Kinda curious.

  • Wow. that video was very good thank you for that.
  • The matrix is influenced by Plato, Socrates, Rene Descartes amount a few
    ...oh, and the cave symbolism.

  • Hmm, it does seem to bring some familiar ideas together in a nifty format with cute Keanu Reeves. I have had a touch of that feeling, I think I got it much more from Dune. Especially after going hiking in Moab.

    Sorry, I wander off
  • Yes all these things. Ive read all paths lead us to the same place. What is that place.
  • I think sometimes lets all become children again..
  • @denkatsu ...return to innocence, a song by enigma.

For some reason that reminds me of the opening lines of The Outsiders,

As I walked out into the bright sunlight,....

But it is really about the opposite, (in a literary mood)

  • Beautifull song lady alison thank you.
