AMHAMH

by Stephen King, pretty much a true Stephen King up there with the great ones so far.

The main character goes back in time to stop Oswald. He has a friend who tried but got very sick and was dying before he got to the time. So the main guy of course doesn't believe this and goes back to make a test change first then comes back through the 'hole' to see if it worked.

The theme that is interesting is that the past does not want to be changed. Each time the characters go to change something lots of interference comes up, illness, cars breaking down, etc.

It reminds me of when we focus on something we want to change, we see how a habit or pattern is hurting us or others, and then all sorts of challenges we never expected come up. We decide to be on time more and then the hair dryer breaks or we can't find the lunch money for our kids or our clothes we wanted to wear didn't get dry because we forgot to hit start. Crazy stuff we never expected.

It related to me from the story and the post about integrating real life and practice. We could be the best at giving a dharma talk, but we have to use our practice to show up on time still,
